COVID-19 Safety Updates from your Favorite Florida Roofing Contractor

Crown Roofing remains open for business and we are committed to our longstanding policy of maintaining a healthy, hygienic environment for all team members and customers.

We continue to take proactive measures related to COVID-19. We have implemented additional cleaning protocols in our office, warehouse, fleet vehicles and work locations. We have also equipped field staff with the necessary equipment to ensure safe working procedures in our customers’ homes.

Crown Roofing is following the strategies that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended in their Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers.

In addition, in order to protect our customers and technicians, we have enacted the following protocols:

  • If any service technician is feeling ill or is caring for someone that is ill, they will not report to work
  • We are asking COVID-19 related health questions when booking an appointment. Please let us know if anyone at the home/business is ill prior to our service technician arriving
  • Our service technicians will arrive to your home with gloves, eye protection and shoe covers – we’ll confirm with you if we should wear our PPE (Person Protective Equipment) upon arrival
  • Crown Roofing service technicians will be adhering to social distancing guidelines

If there are any significant changes to current CDC guidelines, Crown Roofing will update our website and social media to provide our customers with the latest information. We appreciate your understanding and patience should this cause any interruptions to our team or business as usual. We encourage everyone to stay healthy by practicing social distancing, washing your hands frequently and staying informed.

Thank you for your support,

The Crown Roofing Family

We don’t stop there though. Whether it’s a roof replacement in Orlando, Winter Haven, or any of the other major surrounding Florida cities, it’s important to team up with a roofing contractor that can handle all your properties. With offices in Tampa, Sarasota, Fort Myers, Pompano Beach, and Orlando, we’re ready and equipped to help all our neighbors in The Sunshine State.  Let’s get back to what’s important though — your roof.

We’ve got “New Year, New Roof” tips for you and your neighbors to help find the best value in roofing solutions:

Take Action Now: The last thing you want to do is wait until you have a leak to pay your roof the attention it needs.  Regular roof inspections are not only critical in elongating the lifespan of your roof, but also in helping to keep down costly, emergency repairs.  Unfortunately, structural damage can severely increase the bottom line of your roof repair/roof replacement, too.  Keep all working components in tip-top shape with regular care and attention to create the most cost-efficient lifespan of your roofing system.

Know Your Options: When searching out a roofing contractor in Tampa, Lakeland, or any of the surrounding areas for either a roof repair or a complete replacement, your best bet is to turn toward a knowledgeable, experienced, and honest roofer.  There are a plethora of options, features, and upgrades available for every roof system.  It’s imperative that you not only choose the right options for your property but the right options for your wallet.

Watch Your Gutters:  If your gutters aren’t working properly, your roof will likely suffer. You want to make sure that water is able to easily flow away from your roof without any pooling or ponding. Checking your gutters is also an excellent way to tell if your roof has suffered any shingle or tile breakage.

Mind Your Landscaping: Your roof is intended to protect your home or business from the weather — not to repel trees.  You want to make sure that you’re keeping nearby trees properly trimmed to prevent any unnecessary damage. Also, you want to make sure you’re keeping your gutters and downspouts clear of leaves and other debris to help ensure proper drainage.

Find A Trustworthy Roofer: As you wouldn’t let just anyone in your house, you shouldn’t let just anyone on your roof.  Make sure you contract with a company that is local and will be there in your time of need. You want a roofer who can stand behind its warranty and who can provide the property insurance and licensing as well. You want a team that is trained and experienced in all roofing systems and a team that can handle any and all repair, replacement, and diagnostic issues.

Crown Roofing looks forward forward to seeing you in the New Year. With five offices and more than 600 employees across the state, we’re ready to handle your toughest projects.  To help jump start your roofing resolutions, we’re offering FREE, no-obligation estimates.  Call today to schedule yours. We’re answering calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 855-CROWN-55

Surveying and Bidding

Surveying and Bidding

The thought of replacing or repairing a roof is one of the dreaded aspects to home ownership. Because of the significant cost, time, and project scope, roof replacement is one of the largest home improvement projects many homeowners will endure. As with any large project, there are multiple stages in the process. The first stage of roof replacement is surveying and bidding. The below items will alert homeowners to the items a roofer will be looking at during the surveying and bidding stage of roof replacement.

  • Roof Size: Getting accurate dimensions are important so a roofer knows the amount of materials needed to purchase and the length of time the project will take to complete.
  • Materials Being Removed: The more layers to a roof the longer it will take to complete the project. Additionally, heavier materials add time to the project duration.
  • Roof Slope: Steeper roofs are more time intensive for replacement and may have additional layers. This adds additional time for project completion.
  • New Roofing Material: More expensive materials will drive up the cost of the roof replacement and may require additional time for installation.
  • Other Components/Repairs: Oftentimes, there are other repairs that need done when replacing the roof, adding time to the time required to complete the roof replacement.
  • Roof Access: The easier it is to access a roof the easier and less time-consuming the project will take.
  • Time Required: Finally, a roofer will determine the length of time the project should take. On lengthier projects portable restrooms may even be necessary.

Home ownership is a dream many participate in or will so down the road. It is important to be aware of possible pitfalls when purchasing a home to avoid any large unseen expenses such as roof replacement. If you are in the unfortunate situation of needing a roof repair or replacement it is best to have some knowledge on the thought process of a roofer. The above items illustrate a roofer’s considerations in the first step of roof replacement, the surveying and bidding stage.

What to Consider When Replacing Your Roof

What to Consider When Replacing Your Roof

Most homeowners dread the thought of roof replacement; however, your roof is what is keeping you and your family safe.   Replacing a roof is a major home improvement project that costs thousands of dollars.   Because roofs last for years, the decisions you make regarding roof replacement will affect you for a long time.   There are several important factors you should consider when replacing your roof.

Cost

While there is no quick way to know the cost of a new roof, replacing a roof will definitely be costly.  The cost of roofing replacement varies by region, material type, tear off cost plus other factors.  It is important to be prepared in the event you need to replace a roof as cost is such an important factor in the decision.

Timing

Waiting too long to replace a roof or replacing a roof too early can have negative consequences.  Leaks have the potential to damage other parts of your roofing system or even your home itself.  Additional damage to your roof or home can be expensive, therefore it is important to realize the importance of timing when replacing a roof.

Interruption/Noise

Replacing a roof is both a lengthy and noisy process.   When replacing a roof homeowners should be aware of the length of time the project will take and plan their days accordingly.  Homeowners should consider whether they should move for the short-term or tolerate the loud noises that come with replacing a roof.

Materials

Choosing the materials for your new roof is another important aspect to consider when replacing a roof.  The climate of your home, the quality of your new roof, and your budget are the most important factors in determining which materials to choose.   An experienced roofer can help you understand your options and help you make an educated decision based off your individual needs.

Contractor

Replacing a roof may seem like a daunting expensive task.  Considering these five factors will help you in the process of replacing your roof.  As with all roofing decisions, it is important to choose a qualified, experienced, reputable contractor.  The professionals at Crown Roofing knowledgeable and experienced with all areas concerning roof replacement.  We handle all types of roofing systems including tile, shingle, metal and flat low slope roofing.  There is no job too big and no job task too small for Crown Roofing.  We have offices in Central, South, and Southwest Florida.  Call us Today for a free estimate.
